It is incredibly tough to build a creative career today. Between the isolation of working independently, navigating complicated funding, and the constant threat of burnout, brilliant creatives leave the industry every day simply because the system makes it challenging to stay or start-out.

Our coaching programme is here to change that. We offer friendly, practical, and structured guidance to artists and makers at a crossroads in their careers.

We help early-career creatives living, working, or studying in the Midlands bring ambitious public projects—like exhibitions and publications—to life, without burning out or sacrificing their financial stability.

These sessions are open to individuals or collectives based in the Midlands who are navigating a transitional moment. You might find our coaching particularly helpful if you are:

• Leaving structured education: Struggling to find a routine, build confidence, or handle rejection after leaving a university or college in the region.
• Starting fresh: Navigating a new creative landscape after moving to the Midlands or the UK, or pivoting from a different professional career or practice.
• Balancing health and work: Trying to maintain a creative practice whilst managing invisible health challenges or neurodivergence.
• Needing a reset: Recovering from a high-pressure role, balancing life as a parent or carer, and looking for a safe space to focus back on your making.

Bookings, Fees & Cancellations

These sessions are entirely free, but we use a temporary deposit system to ensure that the slots go to people who genuinely want to attend.

• £5 Deposit: Required to secure your session. If this fee is a barrier to your participation, please contact us via email and we will happily get you booked in.
• At the end of your session: You can choose to have your deposit completely refunded, or you can opt to donate it to help support our ongoing work.
• Cancellations: Free up to two days before your session. If you cancel later than this, the deposit is usually retained to cover platform costs.
• A note on short-notice cancellations: We understand that life happens, and that creatives with dependents or disabilities may occasionally need to cancel at extremely short notice. We will always consider these situations on a case-by-case basis.

Are you an organisation?

Funded companies, institutions, galleries, and established businesses can contact us directly to receive a bespoke quote for 1-2-1 coaching.

Please note: We offer these public coaching sessions to individuals and collectives at a considerable financial loss to directly address systemic barriers and inequalities in the arts. Booking an institutional package helps us keep this support sustainable.

Our Creative Coaching offers free, 30-minute intensive Zoom sessions for individual artists or collectives living, working, or studying in the Midlands. Led by our Directors, these focused sessions help you tackle a single, specific career hurdle—from professional development and budgeting to funding applications and community projects. These sessions are typically held on a Monday afternoon.

While the coaching is free, a refundable £5 deposit is required to secure your slot and prevent no-shows.
