#10 OPEN CALL

No Jobs in the Arts are now taking entries for their tenth zine edition; they are seeking submissions of existing visual artwork, from early-career creatives currently living, working, making, or studying in the Midlands, UK. There is no submission theme for Issue #10 – anything goes.
Open Call Eligibility
No Jobs in the Arts are seeking submissions of visual art for this open call. The team defines visual art simply: ‘if we can print any piece of the artwork, we’ll consider including it in the zine’.
Submissions are open to early-career creatives. No Jobs in the Arts use no single criteria to define what an early-career creative is. The creative must decide if submitting to the zine opportunity is beneficial to them. The team suggests ‘read the back issues of the zine on our website – that’s the best way to see what the zine is all about’.
The opportunity is unsuitable for any creative who does not have a link to the Midlands, UK. Creatives are eligible to apply if they are currently living, working, making, or studying in the Midlands region. The East and West Midlands is the central part of England and surrounding areas. The opportunity is unsuitable for any creative under the age of sixteen at the time of submission.
Zine Opportunity
Up to six creatives will be featured and interviewed for the zine – each will be paid a fee of £60. Featured creatives and artworks will be selected from the open call by two guest curators. Issue #10 will be distributed digitally, and in print, across the region and beyond, for free. There is no charge to submit to this opportunity.
No Jobs in the Arts asks creatives and readers to support the future of the zine, by using a pay what you want model. They do this to give creatives and readers autonomy over what they can afford, with no judgement. No Jobs in the Arts fundraise to run projects and pay those involved fairly. To support the project you can make a donation following your submissions.
